Boys' hockey

St. John's 2, Coyle & Cassidy 1: Jared Wetherbee had a goal and assist, Jared Ward added a goal and Matthew Mongeau made 31 saves as the host Pioneers (2-6-1) made a 2-0 first-period lead stand up to top the Warriors (6-1) at the New England Sports Center. Connor Flynn scored on the power play in the third period for Coyle & Cassidy, while Kyle Lane made 37 saves.

St. Bernard's 10, Gardner 1: John Lelli had a hat trick and added an assist, while Joe Lelli had a goal and two assists, Ryan Ambrozy had four assists and Zach Bingham and Ethan Abitz each had three assists to lift the visiting Bernardians (3-4) past the Wildcats (0-9). Shawn Martin scored for Gardner, while Klark Johnson made 44 saves.

Northbridge 5, Nashoba 4: Sam Luukko scored two power-play goals in the third period and Kyle Lynch added a goal and two assists to lead the host Rams (3-2-2) past the Chieftains (4-3) at North Star Youth Forum in Westboro. Kevin Gilchrest registered a hat trick and Jack Charbonneau added two assists for Nashoba.

Littleton 4, Worcester 2: Dalibor Sloboda (1 goal, 1 assist) and Joe DeVellis (2 assists) sparked the visiting Tigers (3-1-1, 1-1-1 Russell) past the Wildcats (5-2, 2-1) at Buffone Arena. Cullen Mars and Cooper Blanchard scored in the third period for Worcester. Matthew Banker, Nathaniel Dutkewych and David Peterson tallied for Littleton.

Westboro 2, Auburn 0: Maxwell McGourty scored in the second period and Stephen Falvey added an empty-net goal in the third as the visiting Rangers (3-4) blanked the Rockets (0-6-1) at Horgan Rink. Jared Ward made 14 saves for Westboro, while Evan Lockwood made 42 saves for Auburn.

Girls' hockey

Austin Prep 4, Algonquin 2: Freshman Julianne Sacco and junior Abigail Crisafideis scored for the Tomahawks (4-4) in a loss to the Cougars (5-1-1) at Stoneham Arena. Freshman Angela Ferro had 36 saves for Algonquin.

Archbishop Williams 4, Shrewsbury 2: Lauren Ineson had a goal and an assist and Delaney Couture added a goal, but the visiting Colonials (4-2-1) fell to Archbishop Williams (9-1-1).

Phillips Andover 3, Worcester Academy 1: Sophomore Kaitlin Hoang scored a hat trick to help Phillips Andover (7-2-1) defeat the Hilltoppers (8-2-2). Maddie Evangelous scored on a pass from Timary Malley in the second period for Worcester Academy.

Boys' basketball

Nipmuc 50, Douglas 46: Freshman Cameron Dunning hit two free throws with 2 seconds left in his first varsity game to lift the host Warriors (3-5, 1-1 Dual Valley) past the Tigers (6-1, 1-1). Senior Nick Greer had 23 points and eight rebounds for Nipmuc. Jesse...
