The combined amount of the Proposition 2-1/2 tax cap override vote today in Ashburnham and Westminster is for $356,632. Because of an editing error, the amount was incorrect in a headline on a story in yesterday's Telegram & Gazette.

Voters in both Ashburnham and Westminster are being asked to go the polls tomorrow to decide on $356,000 Proposition 2-1/2 tax cap override requests for additional funding for the Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District.

Polls in both towns are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Ashburnham's special election will be held at J.R. Briggs Elementary School, 96 Williams Road, and Westminster's at Westminster Elementary School, 9 Academy Hill Road.

The measure, school officials say, will save another 7.2 full-time equivalent positions in the district in fiscal 2011, following the slashing of 28 positions in the current budget cycle, which ends June 30. Both towns must approve the measure for the overrides to move forward, according to the agreement between the two districts.
