COLUMN: ROUNDUP HOCKEY Westboro 8, Warwick Veterans 3 Junior Scott Brady was named tournament MVP last night as the Rangers won the Warwick Beacon Holiday Tournament at Thayer Arena in Warwick, R.I. Brady had five goals and six assists in two games. Westboro senior goalie Joe Teevens was named to the all-tournament team. Marlboro 4, Lincoln-Sudbury 2 Craig Silverman and Sean Breen each had a goal and an assist as the 4-1 Panthers beat Lincoln-Sudbury (2-2) in the MetroWest Tournament at the New England Sports Center. Wes Russell and John Casey also scored, and Jim Delaney had two assists for No. 4 Marlboro, which will play the Hudson/Marian winner at 7:30 tonight in the final. Northbridge 8, St. Joseph's 0 Alex Misiaszek and Stephen Moore each scored twice as the Rams (3-1-1) blanked St. Joseph's of Pittsfield in the Valley Holiday Cup at Buffone Rink. Ethan White made 12 saves to post the shutout for Northbridge, which will face host Grafton at 7 p.m. Saturday for the title. Pittsfield will play Ashland in the consolation at 5. Grafton 8, Ashland 2 Senior captain Tom Bruso netted a hat trick as host Grafton (3-1) upended the Clockers (2-2) in the Valley Holiday Cup at Buffone Rink. Freshman Chris Weilandt and senior Ryan Kelly each scored a goal and had two assists for the Indians. St. John's 8, Barrington 1 Senior winger Andrew Sinibaldi netted a hat trick in leading the Pioneers over Barrington (R.I.) in the Yankee Holiday Classic in Kingston, R.I. Senior William Aubin had two assists and junior winger Chris Laucks had a goal and an assist for St. John's (1-4), which will face Hamden in the championship game at 6 tonight. Malden Catholic 5, St. Bernard's 3 Despite two goals by senior right wing Jon May, the Bernardians (1-3) fell on the road. May scored in the second and third period for St. Bernard's, while Zack Cote added a goal. BOYS' BASKETBALL Tantasqua 60, Millbury 38 Senior Terry Peretti led all scorers with 19 points for the Warriors (4-0) in Sturbridge. Peretti was 3 of 3 from 3-point range, while Andrew Kazanovicz had eight points and 10 rebounds for Tantasqua. Carlos Sanchez led the Woolies (3-3) with 15 points. St. Mary's 52, North Brookfield 50 Senior co-captain John Barbale scored 20 points while classmate and co-captain Steinhard Renaud added 10 as the visiting Eagles (3-2) held on to win.
