Equipment stop brings drug arrest

SUTTON - After stopping a Ware driver for a defective light, police charged him with having marijuana and drug packaging materials in his car.

David L. Mejorado, 21, of 98 Church St., Ware, was arrested at 1:56 a.m. Monday on Purgatory Road, after Officer William Jacques observed the vehicle to have a defective light. After allegedly smelling marijuana coming from the car, Officer Jacques and Sgt. Kevin Richard searched Mr. Mejorado's 2002 Volkswagen Passat and found $206 in cash, marijuana with a street value of $350, drug packaging materials and a digital scale. He was arraigned yesterday in Uxbridge District Court, and released on $290 cash bail.

Uxbridge man faces driving charges

SUTTON - Police say an Uxbridge man was driving drunk, at 70 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone, through an intersection crowded with children and parents.

Joshua A. Davis, 27, of 297 N. Main St., North Uxbridge, was allegedly driving his 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck at 5:45 p.m. Monday through the intersection of Whitins Road and Hough Road, where there is a playground and sports field.
