Richard S. Johnson.

NORTH EASTHAM Richard S. Johnson, 82, died on May 14, 2011 at his home in North Eastham. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Annis) Johnson and the late Mary (Kimball) Johnson.

Born in Worcester and raised in Holden, he was a graduate of Holden High School and Clark University, where he majored in Geology. He also earned a degree from the School of Industrial Management at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and attended courses at Harvard University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Employed at the Norton Company in Worcester for 30 years he retired as the Director of Health and Safety. As a young man he was a multi-sport high school athlete. While raising his family in Holden he was active coaching youth sports. He enjoyed travel, gardening and the beaches of Florida and Cape Cod.

In addition to his wife Carol, he leaves three sons: Bruce Johnson and his wife Maura, Scott Johnson and Edward Johnson.
