WORCESTER - Robert Frederick Jones, 91, entered eternity Monday, April 8, 2013 at UMass Medical Center. Robert, affectionately known as Jonesy, was born on January 6, 1922 in Worcester. He married his high school sweetheart, Jinny Havener, who predeceased Bob by three years. They were married on April 2, 1944 while Bob was serving his country as a corporal in the Air Force. He saw his son Peter for the first time when he returned from the Philipines.

Bob worked at Mass Electric as head purchasing agent for close to 50 years. As Bob's family grew with the birth of Philip, then Sandra, he bought a small cape in Auburn. Bob added dormers, bedrooms, a patio, a deck, a porch and garage to the house, which was fast becoming a lovely home. He was a talented handyman and loved his garden. His house always had the loveliest flowers in the neighborhood.

Many trips with the family to The World's Fair, Washington, D.C., Williamsburg, Virginia, the family cottage at the Cape, and the favorite local Rotary Beach, made it a wonderful family to grow up in. He was a loving father, a devoted husband and a great friend...
