Robert M. Gibbons, 73.

CLINTON - Robert M. Gibbons, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Umass Medical Center in Worcester after a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Carolyn (Carl) Gibbons; their son, Scott M. Gibbons & his wife Ruth of Whitinsville; two grandchildren, Cameron and Julia Gibbons; a brother, Terence Gibbons & wife Barbara of Rindge, NH; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He is pre-deceased by his son, Craig R. Gibbons, who died in 1990.

Robert was born in Clinton to the late Martin & Vera (Cameron) Gibbons. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the Clinton High School Class of 1958 where he excelled in both academics and athletics. Bob continued his studies at Bates College where he played football and obtained his B.S. in Education in 1962. He later achieved a Master's degree in Education from Worcester State College and began his lifelong career as an educator.
