St. John's 63, Xaverian 43: Senior Richard Rodgers led all scorers with 21 points and earned his 1,000th career point with a put-back early in the game to help the Pioneers earn their first win with a home victory over the Hawks (0-1).

Jim Smith had three steals in the second quarter to help St. John's (1-3) take a 37-17 lead at halftime. Center Matt Palecki had 15 points and 12 rebounds while Matt Harrington controlled the flow of the game for the Pioneers, finishing with 7 points.

Abby Kelley 65, Trivium 43: Sophomore forward Kwesi Ewusi contributed 21 points to lead the visiting Bears (2-0, WCAC). Greg Pockenen added 11 points.

Tim Doyle contributed 15 points for Trivium (0-2).

Clinton 86, South Lancaster Academy 66: Senior Brendan Cutler scored a game-high 27 points, 10 of them coming in a 23-10 second quarter that helped carry the Gaels (1-1) past the visiting Crusaders.

Senior Sergio Colon, a 6-foot-4 center, had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Clinton, which had a big height advantage among the starters. The Gaels led at halftime, 42-19.

Adrian Olivera had 16 points and Ed Cunha added 14 for SLA, which made nine 3-pointers.

Leominster 62, Marlboro 55: Ryan Turbide scored 21 points while Kyle Sanders added 11 and Jimmy Kingman 10 to lead the visiting Blue Devils in their season opener on Wednesday.

Nick De La Cruz led the Panthers (1-2) with 14 points while Carlos De La Cruz added 12.

Southbridge 85, Bay Path 71: Enrique Ortiz had 22 points to lead the Pioneers (2-1) to a home win.

Southbridge got out to a 29-11 lead after the first quarter, with Eric Lincoln scoring nine points. David Prince scored 22 points for the Minutemen (0-2), while T.J. Gentry added 20.

St. Mary's 62, North Central Charter 44: Senior captains Carlos D'Olivera (19 points, 14 rebounds) and Frank Diliddo (8 points, 18 rebounds), plus Harry Quick (19 points, 11 steals) sparked the host Eagles (1-1), who built a 23-3 first-quarter lead.

Kevin Witala paced the Tigers (0-2) with 21 points.
