Ruth Banks 95.

WORCESTER - Ruth V. (Miller) Banks, 95, of Worcester passed away peacefully January 4, 2013 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Banks of 67 years who passed in April 2006. She was predeceased by one brother, Joseph P. Miller of Worcester.

Ruth was born in Worcester on February 14, 1917, daughter of Samuel and Adelle (Sakalauskas) Miller. She graduated from Commerce High School and Vanity Beauty School and worked for Vernon Press. She was a long time member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and also as a young woman, sang in the choir of the former Saint Casimer's church. Ruth loved music and was an accomplished pianist. She enjoyed playing at all family parties and whoever visited her at her home. She also was an avid painter and created beautiful paintings for all her family. Ruth was a loving wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family, cherishing her role as mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her later years she inspired many with her positive attitude, her many jokes and ability to live every day to its fullest. She was so very thankful to all who helped in her care.

She leaves two sons, Paul Banks and wife Alberta and Joseph Banks and wife Theresa, both of Auburn, MA, and a daughter, Carolyn Bonnell and husband Edward of Sterling, MA. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, Paul Banks Jr. and wife Melissa of Westminster, MA, Keith Banks and...
