STURBRIDGE S. Claire (Douty) Fortier, 93, of Arnold Rd., died Thursday, Dec. 22nd 2011, in the Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, after an illness.

Her husband of 67 years, Emile H. Fortier, died in 2008. She leaves three sons: Richard Fortier and his wife Linda of Sturbridge, Ronald Fortier and his wife Mary Beth of Mount Juliet, TN and Russell Fortier and his husband Steven Goodrich of Northampton; a brother, Edward Douty of Sturbridge; a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Plimpton of Sturbridge; three grandsons: David Fortier, Robert Fortier and Seth Fortier; five great grandchildren: Cassidy Fortier, Hunter Fortier, Tanner Fortier, Ben Fortier and Marie Fortier; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Clemence. She was born in Palmer, the daughter of Edward and Mary E. (Callahan) Douty.
