WORCESTER - Seniors Dominic Randolph, Tiffany Reid, Matt Shapiro and Mara Piltin were featured honorees at Holy Cross' awards dinner last night.

Randolph, the record-breaking All-American quarterback, was selected Crusader of the Year. Last fall, he was Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year while leading Holy Cross to the PL title and the NCAA playoffs.

While passing for 3,776 yards and 34 touchdowns, he also led the team in rushing (480 yards, seven TDs).

He owns HC and Patriot League career records for total offense, passing yards, touchdown passes, completions and attempts.

Reid, a standout sprinter on the women's track and field team, was presented with the John A. Meegan Athletic Achievement Award. She set school records indoors and outdoors, at 55, 60, 100, 200 and 300 meters, and also ran legs on five HC-record relay teams. Reid was a nine-time All-Patriot League selection, won PL titles in five different events, and was Athlete of the Meet at the 2010 PL indoor championships.

Reid, who won the 200 at the 2008 New England outdoor championships, was selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in each of the last two years.

Shapiro, a left-handed pitcher on the baseball team, received the John P. Cooley Memorial Award presented to the senior letter-winner who performed beyond all expectations with courage, loyalty and dedication. As a sophomore, he...
