WEST POINT, N.Y. - What a difference a month makes.

On Jan. 16, the Holy Cross men's basketball team had one of its worst offensive games in recent memory, scoring just 39 points in a loss to Army at the Hart Center.

The Crusaders nearly doubled that total last night, dominating the Black Knights en route to a 64-53 Patriot League win at Christl Arena.

Senior center Tim Clifford led the way with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks as Holy Cross improved to 13-10, 4-6 in the Patriot League. Army fell to 11-12, 4-5 in the league.

The Crusaders return to action at 6 p.m. tomorrow when they travel to Lewisburg, Pa., to face rival Bucknell in a game that will be televised live on ESPN2.

Junior forward Alex Vander Baan had 13 points and seven rebounds for Holy Cross, while sophomore forward Eric Meister added 11 points on 4-of-4 shooting.

Army was led by Jarell Brown with 21 points.

The Black Knights pulled to within 47-43 with 6:58 left before the Crusaders regained their form on the offensive end, outscoring Army, 9-4, over the next four minutes.

Holy Cross then made all eight of its foul shots in the final three minutes to clinch the victory.

The Crusaders shot 55.3 percent (21 of 38) from the field, while hitting 21 of 26 free throws. They also...
