Holy Cross 2, Brown 0: Junior forward Erik Vos and sophomore defenseman Jeffrey Reppucci scored and junior Thomas Tysowsky made 21 saves in his first shutout of the season as the Crusaders (5-6-0) snapped a two-game losing streak with the win over the Bears (3-5-1) at the Hart Center.

Vos scored his fifth goal of the season at 2:45 of the second period, with Rob Linsmayer and Andrew Cox assisting.

Reppucci made it 2-0 with his first of the season at 7:13 of the third period, Vos and Nilan Nagy assisting.

Holy Cross hosts Clarkson today.

Skidmore 8, Nichols 2: Brett Jackson tied it, 1-1, with a goal at 9:44 of the first period and Joe Sposit made it 5-2 with a power-play goal at 9:44 of the second period but Bison (1-4-1) couldn't slow down the Thoroughbreds (3-4) in the first round of the Skidmore Invitational Tournament at the Saratoga Springs City Rink.

Nichols plays SUNY Brockport in the consolation game at 1 p.m. today.

Trinity 4, Assumption 1: Sophomore forward Nick Mattiello scored his sixth goal of the season at 12:12 of the third period as the visiting Greyhounds (4-4-1) avoided the shutout against the Bantams (1-2) at Wesleyan University.

UMass-Boston 1, Worcester State 1: After playing to a tie through regulation and overtime, the Beacons beat the Lancers in a shootout, 2-1, and advanced to the PAL Cup Tournament championship game at Southern New Hampshire University.

UMass-Boston (2-4-1) took the lead on a power-play goal by Bryan Albert at 6:20 of the first period, but R.J. Byrne pulled Worcester State (1-3-2) even with his first goal of the season at 5:47 of the third. Smbat Defterderian assisted on the tying goal.

Worcester State plays Southern New Hampshire in the consolation at 1:30 today.
