OXFORD - A man driving a motorcycle was killed and a female passenger was seriously injured when the motorcycle collided with a van turning from a parking lot onto Route 20 yesterday afternoon.

According to state police, Joann Burlingame, 51, of Charlton, was exiting a parking lot on the eastbound side of Route 20 in a 1999 Chevrolet Astrovan around 1:30 p.m., when her van collided with the 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

State police said 52-year-old Ronald Tarascio of Enfield, Conn., was taken by ambulance to Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge, where he was later pronounced dead. His passenger, 52-year-old Debra DeRosa of East Windsor, Conn., was taken by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester with what state police described as serious injuries.

Ms. Burlingame suffered minor injuries, and was taken by ambulance to Harrington Memorial Hospital, state police said.
