FRANKLIN- Sheryl A. (Romano) Patterson, 42, Massachusetts State Police, of Franklin, died peacefully at her home Tuesday, May 21, 2013 surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle against cancer. She was the beloved wife of David A. Patterson. Born November 4, 1970 in Worcester, a daughter of the late Fina (Leone) Romano & Carmen P. and Ann M. (Paladino) Romano of Millbury, she was a resident of Franklin since 2005 and was a former resident of Worcester. She was raised and educated in Worcester, where she was a graduate of Holy Name High School Class of 1988. She next attended Fitchburg State College where she received a Bachelor's degree in business and also was a graduate of Anna Maria College in 1994 with a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice. While attending college, she was enrolled at the Massachusetts State Police Academy and became a Trooper in 1994. She was first assigned as a road trooper for SP Russell, and then worked for the Hampden County District Attorney's Office as a homicide investigator, and until her illness forced her to stop working, she was at the Worcester County District Attorney's Office as an investigator in the narcotics division.
