Junior Castan Sommer scored three goals - one with the Blue Devils on a five-on-three power play - to lead the third-ranked Colonials (7-4-5, 4-0-3) to a Roy Conference win yesterday at Northstar Youth Forum.

The victory leaves Shrewsbury one point from clinching a berth in the Central Mass. Division 3 Tournament.

Hudson 10, Groton-Dunstable 0

Kevin Christie had three goals and an assist, and Steve Huehmer added two goals and an assist for the fourth-ranked Hawks (11-3-2) at the New England Sports Center. C.J. Flannery shut out the Crusaders (3-13-1) with 22 saves.

Oakmont 7, Hudson Catholic 1

Sophomore Nick Carter had three goals for the host Spartans (10-2-3) at Cushing Academy, and Zack Belliveau stopped 14 shots by the Green Wave (0-14).

Marlboro 4, North Middlesex 1

R.J. Byrne scored the winning goal with less than three minutes remaining in the second period for the second-ranked Panthers (10-1-3).

Grafton 3, Murdock 0

Tyler Changaris scored the winning goal on a feed from Tim Thiesing at 4:40 of the third period, and Joe Iadarola stopped 22 shots for the visiting Indians (10-1-3).

The Blue Devils are 6-10.

Milford 5, St. Joseph's (Pittsfield) 2

Ryan Veduccio and Brett Lawson each scored twice, and Tom O'Rourke added two assists for the Scarlet Hawks (4-11) at New England Sports Center.

Auburn 3, Westboro 3

The visiting Rangers (7-6-2) scored the final two goals, including one by Eric Collado with 57 seconds left to force a tie at Horgan Rink.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Wachusett 76, Milford 49

Junior guard Kellon Haynes had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the sixth-ranked Mountaineers (2-12, 1-6 Mid-Wach A) in Holden.

Noel Ramirez led the Scarlet Hawks (2-12, 1-6) with 14 points.

Pingree 61, Bancroft 55

Senior forward Ethan Haskell had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the visiting Bulldogs (11-4, 9-3 EIL), who pulled within four points after trailing, 33-19, at halftime.

Oakmont 59, Lunenburg 40

Junior Trevor Burt scored 14 points to lead the 10th-ranked Spartans to a Mid-Wach C road win over the Blue Knights (8-3, 5-3).
