GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Sutton 48, Narragansett 35: Senior forward Bianca Batallas made two free throws with four seconds left in the first quarter to record her 1,000th point for the Warriors (7-2), who went on to lose to the Suzies.

Batallas finished with 18 points, giving her 1,009 for her career.

Victoria Demers had 12 points for Sutton (7-2), which hit six free throws in the fourth quarter to ice it.

Auburn 55, Leicester 29: Sarah Palace scored 23 points to propel the 10th-ranked Rockets (8-0) past the host Wolverines (2-6).

Bancroft 28, Newton Country Day 22: Senior center Shanice Shaw had a game-high 12 points and seven rebounds for the visiting Bulldogs (3-4).

Douglas 53, Worcester Tech 25: Sophomore Allison Hester scored 10 points to lead the host Tigers (5-2), who outscored the Eagles (1-7), 19-8, in the second quarter.

Main South 51, Abby Kelley 21: Sam O'Gara scored a game-high 14 points and Bianca Matos had 12 to lead the visiting Cougars (6-0) past the Bears (1-6).

Notre Dame 36, Northbridge 30: Meg Sullivan led all scorers with 15 points for the host Rebels (5-3), who held Northbridge's leading scorer, Sarah Boucher, to five points.

St. Peter-Marian 53, Burncoat 50: Megan Reilly's free throws with under a minute left won it for the host Guardians (2-6) despite a game-high 29 points from Shanelle Sims of the Patriots (2-6).

Reilly finished with a team-high 16 points, and Kristina Domantas had 12 points and 18 rebounds for SPM.

Tantasqua 42, Oxford 35: Sophomore Claudia Fleshman scored 13 points to lead the visiting Warriors (3-5), who outscored the Pirates (2-6), 15-8, in the third quarter after trailing by one at halftime.

Worcester Academy 51, Loomis Chaffee 36: Candace Andrews had a game-high 21 points to power the visiting Hilltoppers (7-2) past the Pelicans (4-4).

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Auburn 54, Leicester 49: Sophomore guard Mark Wright scored 14 points and senior forward Tyler Simmons added 13 as the Rockets (7-2, 6-1 SWCL) held on at home.

Senior guard Mykeem Minton paced the Wolverines (1-7, 0-6) with 14 points.

Bancroft 63, Portsmouth Abbey 51: Senior guard P.J. Lidonde scored a game-high 37 points with 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the host Bulldogs (3-8, 1-5 EIL).

Hopedale 63, Millbury 41: Senior forward Shane Finnegan had a game-high 22 points and Evan Lerner added 12 points and eight rebounds for the host Blue Raiders (8-1).

Nick Guaragno topped the Woolies (1-7) with 16 points.
