GREENWICH, CT Longtime Greenwich resident, Werner Wind, 86, passed away on June 30th surrounded by his wife and children.

Born on January 14, 1922 in Thun, Switzerland, Werner was a son of the late Eduard and Christine Wind.

Werner, who earned a business degree in Switzerland, arrived in the United States in 1948 where he established The Wind Corporation in New York City, an industrial hardware supply business which continues to thrive today in Danbury, CT.

Werner met Mimi Dodemont, who grew up in Aywaille, Belgium, on the ship "Nieuw Amsterdam" while traveling to the United States. They were married in Thun, Switzerland on February 15, 1954 and moved to Queens, NY. Two years later they built their first home in Greenwich and recently settled in Stamford.

He had a passion for life and was a true adventurer, but above all was extremely devoted to his family.

Werner joins his son, Jean-Claude who died in 1980 and his daughter, Bernadette who died in early childhood. He is survived by Mimi, his wife of 54 years; his daughters, Alexandra Lindner...
