William R. Warner, 80Northborough - William R. Warner, 80, of Northborough, MA, passed away peacefully April 13, 2015. He was the only child of Alice (Olsen) and Donald Warner of Sterling, MA. He made the cut in the "Lifetime Golf Tournament" by shooting an 80 (age) and finishing the 18th hole with a double eagle and a smile on his face. Willie was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade High School and worked at GTE as a Mechanical Designer for 30 years. He loved to be around people, the great outdoors, and sports. He was a freshwater fisherman as a teen and an avid golfer and bowler throughout his adult life. As a young father, he shared his love of sports with his two boys, Eric and Brett. He was a founding member of the Northboro Youth Ice Hockey League and continued to support the program for twenty years. In addition, he jumped on the ice and was a first-rate goalie coach to his son, Brett. He is most fondly remembered as "Uncle Will" or "Willie", a lover of New England sports teams and a devoted Patriots season ticket holder. In 1992 his dedication was formally recognized when he received the honorable "Patriot's Fan of the Year" award. Will loved flea markets, antiques and collectables...
